Development of coat care in puppies
1st step

Put the puppy on the table, pet it and cuddle it. Talk calmly and gently to the little one, if you're calm, the puppy will be too. Give him a treat and put him down when he's calm. This shouldn't take longer than a few minutes. You practice this every day and extend the time that the little one stays relaxed on the table and lets you pet him. (In the beginning everything still standing and sitting)

2nd step

The puppy is standing on the table and you show it a soft brush, let it smell it, then gently stroke its back with the brush and talk to it lovingly. First, get a baby brush or one with boar bristles. Repeat this every day and increase the time the little one stays on the table. Stroke his head and don't forget his fat belly. Whenever he is completely relaxed, end and give him a treat.
At the same time you playfully practice lying on your side on the floor. When he is tired, sit down next to him and stroke his tummy and lay him on his side.....don't forget to praise, the dog must like what you are doing.....so don't romp wildly first and play and expect the dog to lie down on its side, but wait for a quiet hour to cuddle......it all takes patience.

3rd step

Puppy sits or stands on the table, brushing the dog with one hand and stroking the tummy with the other. If he likes it, he will lie down by himself and usually on his side (you really need a lot of patience and calm here, it can take a few days for the little one to stay calm). Use the brush to make just a few strokes across the sides and back. Praise and lots of treats.

4th step

When everything is going well, you take a real brush and start slowly again and increase the time. Always praise a lot, there is always time to cuddle in between. In the beginning you can only manage a bit of back or legs and the rod.
Gradually increase the time on the table as the puppy remains relaxed you can increase the brushing times and involve more and more parts of the body.
Of course, it takes a few weeks for dog and human to be brushed in a completely relaxed manner and requires a lot of rest and patience. Please do not rush into anything and, above all, absolutely non-violent, the dog should see the brushing positively and if you remain calm and the dog too, it can be a wonderful ritual for both of you. Many say that you can really relax and meditate while brushing.

Good luck and don't give up.❤
